Privacy policy

This policy explains what information CalciTools (calcitools.com) collects when you use the site, why, and the choices you have. The short version: the numbers you type into our calculators never leave your device.

Numbers you enter into calculators

All calculations run in your browser. We do not send, store or log the values you enter — salary, income, loan balances, dates of birth or anything else. To let you bookmark or share a result, some calculators put your inputs in the page address (the part after “?”). That address stays on your device unless you choose to share it. Our analytics are configured to record only the page path, without that part.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages and calculators are used, so we can improve them. It collects standard technical and usage data such as pages viewed, approximate location (city or country), device and browser type, and referring site. It uses cookies or similar identifiers. We record events such as “calculator used” or “result shared”, but never the values you entered. IP addresses are anonymized. If we enable Plausible Analytics, it collects similar aggregate data without cookies.

You can opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s browser add-on. We also honor your browser’s Do Not Track setting.

Email address (only if you give it to us)

If you join a waitlist (for example, for detailed PDF reports), we collect your email address and which calculator you signed up from. Submissions are stored by our hosting provider, Netlify (Netlify Forms). We use your email only to tell you about the feature you signed up for, and every email will include a way to unsubscribe. We do not sell or rent email addresses. To have your email deleted, contact us at the address below.

Advertising

Some pages may show ads from Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can manage this at Google Ad Settings or learn more at How Google uses data from sites that use its services. Where required (for example, for visitors in the EU and UK), we will ask for your consent before ad cookies are used.

Affiliate links

Some pages may link to products or services and earn us a commission if you buy, at no extra cost to you. These links are labelled. The retailer you visit has its own privacy policy.

Browser storage

The site may store small preferences in your browser (for example, so a prompt isn’t shown to you repeatedly). This stays on your device and you can clear it at any time in your browser settings.

Hosting and logs

The site is hosted by Netlify, which processes standard request data (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver pages and protect against abuse.

Children

CalciTools is a general-audience site and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example, California, other US states, the EU or the UK), you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you, or to object to certain uses. We do not sell personal information. To make a request, contact us below.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
